Demoulding skills of silicone mold for candles

Now many friends have started to DIY silicone rubber moulds by themselves. DIY makes various exquisite creative handicrafts, such as hand-made candles, creative candles, wedding candles  arts, decorative candles works and so on. Then this time we will explain the demoulding skills of the silicone candle mold.

Demoulding operation of candle silicone mold

1. Before the silicone mold is filled with wax, a layer of mold release agent should be sprayed in the silicone mold of the candle. Make sure that the mold is evenly smeared/sprayed to create a separation layer, which will help the candle to be easier to demould after forming. (Note: When selecting the release agent, you must select the release agent suitable for the operation of silicone rubber; when spraying/brushing the detergent, you must use a hair dryer or air gun to dry it before you can pour wax slurry).

2. The painting and spraying of release agent must be uniform, especially for the details of the texture. Because the details are often not paid attention to, the demoulding will make it difficult for the product to demould, and may have some wear on the finished candle. If the candle texture is particularly fine and the structure is relatively complex, it is recommended to use liquid release agents such as detergent water for demoulding. After brushing/spraying the release agent, dry the silicone mold of the candle with a hair dryer/air gun. (It is not recommended to use paste release agent, because the parts with small texture can not be effectively cleaned after being coated with release agent, there will be paste release agent left in the mold, and the surface of the product will be flat without original fine texture, affecting the appearance of the product. Some parts even need to be processed and repaired, which will be more troublesome.)

3. Keep the lower candlewick still, and slowly pour the melted wax slurry into the silicone mold. Avoid splashing on the edge or dumping too fast, which can reduce the generation of more bubbles.

4. The wax slurry can be demoulded after it is poured and left to stand for several hours. Just follow the operation mode and pay attention to the operation matters. Demoulding is relatively simple, and the candles will be fine and beautiful.
