What should be paid attention to when making silicone mold?
In the process of making silicone mold, a lot of details also need to be paid attention to, otherwise it is easy to cause unnecessary waste of materials, as well as unnecessary rework and mold repair. It includes the molding method selected, catalyst operation and demoulding times.
The first is the selection of silicone rubber mold opening process.
The mold opening process includes brush mold and pouring mold. The mold making silicone rubber used in different processes is different. The rtv silicone used in the brush mold needs to be thicker to better adhere to the mold, and the pouring molds needs to be thinner to better smooth every texture of the product. If the two processes are used in the opposite way, the silicone mold will not be durable.
The second is the catalyst operation of liquid mold silicone rubber.
When using the condensation cured type molding silicone, the ratio of silicone and catalyst must be strictly followed as the instruction from AYAAON. If the temperature is different, the ratio of the curing agent of the silicone can be adjusted according to the temperature. If the temperature is high, the ratio will decrease, and if the temperature is low, the ratio will increase. However, the ratio of high cannot be higher than 100:4, and the ratio of low cannot be lower than 100:1.2. If too much curing agent is added, the curing time of the silicone rubber will not increase, but the shrinkage rate of the silicone product will increase, As a result, silicone mold is not durable, resulting in unnecessary waste of silicone rubber materials.
Finally, the silicone rubber moulds needs to be fully cured before it is put into use.
Normally, the curing time is about 5 hours. If it is put into mass production after 24 hours of curing, the effect will be better.
